ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – Incumbent Sergio Robles has a cushion in the race for the District 4 City Council seat here, according to unofficial election results from Sacramento County.

Robles leads challenger Peggy Parks by 1,607 votes out of the 5,947 cast. Robles has 63.5% of the vote to Parks’ 36.5%.

But the results are “very preliminary,” said Sacramento County spokesperson Ken Casparis Nov. 4.

More than half of the ballots countywide need to be opened and counted, Casparis estimated.

The next update on election results from the county will be Nov. 6.
