ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Luck was in the cards for two Elk Grove locals who struck it big at Sky River Casino, with combined wins greater than $371,000 in progressive jackpot payouts across two popular Light & Wonder table games.

On Oct. 2, Elk Grove resident Robert R. took home a $236,254 progressive jackpot while playing Light & Wonder's Ultimate Texas Hold'emâ„¢. Just days earlier, on Sept. 29, another Sky River Rewards member from Elk Grove collected $135,676 after being dealt the coveted five aces hand while playing Light & Wonder's Face Up Pai Gow Poker. Together, the back-to-back wins contributed to more than $8 million awarded through Sky River Casino's table game jackpots in just over 9 months.

Robert R. secured his six-figure payday with one of poker's most celebrated hands: a royal flush! The hand triggered the top award on Ultimate Texas Hold'em's optional progressive side bet, which rewards players for making premium poker hands.

When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, Robert's answer was simple: "Pay my bills." He also shared that the jackpot was the largest win of his life. In a gesture that reflected the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the win, Robert insisted that the dealer, Mary K., who helped deliver the memorable hand, join him in the winner photo.

Just three days earlier, another Elk Grove local experienced a six-figure jackpot win at a Face Up Pai Gow Poker table. The guest was dealt with the five aces combination consisting of all four aces and the game's single joker. Under the game's progressive pay table, five aces earns 10% of the progressive jackpot, which had grown to more than $1.35 million at the time of the win.

"When a jackpot hits, the excitement spreads beyond the winning player," said Michael J. Facenda, president & general manager of Sky River Casino. "The entire casino gets caught up in the moment. I love that Robert wanted our team member, Mary, in his photo because it speaks to the connections our guests and team members make here every day. We're thrilled that two Elk Grove residents won more than $371,000 in just four days and grateful they chose to spend their time with us."

While guests celebrate big wins inside Sky River Casino, progress continues outside as the property's expansion rises higher each week. Construction crews completed the third-floor concrete pour of the hotel tower on Sept. 25 and have since moved onto the fourth-floor pour, which began in October. With approximately 8,500 cubic yards of concrete poured and 300 tons of structural steel installed to date, the growing structure is becoming an increasingly visible addition to the Elk Grove skyline as work advances on Sky River's resort expansion.
