Behind-the-Scenes Look at Waste Facility

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Members of the fall Elk Grove 101 cohort recently toured the City of Elk Grove’s Special Waste Collection Center, getting a behind-the-scenes look at what happens to household hazardous waste after it leaves residents’ homes.
The visit gave participants an opportunity to learn more about an important City service while seeing firsthand how hazardous materials are handled and properly disposed of or recycled. Elk Grove 101 brings residents together to learn how their local government works, with hands-on experiences providing an inside look at the services that help keep the community safe and clean.

Residents are reminded that household hazardous waste should never be placed in the garbage. Elk Grove residents, eligible Sacramento County residents and certain small businesses can bring accepted hazardous materials to the Special Waste Collection Center for proper disposal or recycling located at 9255 Disposal Lane, Elk Grove.
