ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The City of Elk Grove is expanding its community outreach on the future of two buildings along Historic Main Street, including the former library and nearby Teen Center.

The city has spent the past month gathering public input on potential new uses for the former library building. That planning process has now expanded to include the Teen Center, allowing the city to consider how both properties could be renovated and used to meet future community needs.

The first two community workshops were held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at District56, giving residents an opportunity to share ideas and feedback on potential uses for the buildings.

A third community workshop is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The city is exploring possible renovations and new uses for both buildings but has not announced final plans for either property.

Residents who are unable to attend the Sept. 16 workshop can also provide feedback through an online survey.

Information about the survey and workshop registration is available through the City of Elk Grove at elkgrove.gov.
