ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Cosumnes Fire Department will host a free two-day Teen Fire Camp Oct. 24-25 for youth ages 14 to 18 interested in learning about firefighting, emergency medical services and careers in the fire service.

The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days at the Cosumnes Fire Training Center, 10573 E. Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove.

Participants will spend two days learning about fire, rescue and emergency medical services from current firefighters. The camp will include hands-on activities designed to give students experience with skills and training used in the fire service.

The department is inviting students from throughout the community to participate in the program.

Parents and guardians will also be invited to attend a skills showcase Sunday, Oct. 25, where participants will demonstrate some of what they learned and experienced during the camp.

The Teen Fire Camp is free to attend and open to participants ages 14 to 18.
