ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Elk Grove High School’s Awesome Class of 1981 recently enjoyed its 45-year reunion.  Festivities commenced the morning of Friday, July 24 with a golf tournament at Wildhawk Golf Course in Sacramento, followed by a casual evening of food and drink at Dust Bowl Brewery in Elk Grove. 

The reunion’s main event was a dinner and dance held Saturday, July 25 at the beautiful Murieta Inn and Spa in Rancho Murieta. Smiles, laughter and hugs were abundant as classmates reconnected, shared updates with each other and made plans to keep in touch.

Ongoing entertainment during the Saturday event included a slideshow of snapshots taken during high school and other reunion events, as well as a memorabilia table stocked with yearbooks, photos, Class of ’81 souvenirs, and the ever-growing collection of “What Everyone’s Doing Now” binders.  There was also a second slideshow, a quiet reminder of classmates who have passed away since graduation.

Background music, an enjoyable mix of favorites from “back in the day,” was provided by DJ Argonaut Event Audio Service during the cocktail hour and dinner. 

The volume was cranked up for dancing a while later, giving those so inclined the chance to demonstrate they can still shake it!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this a fun and very successful reunion. Ideas are already being shared for the Class of 1981’s 50th reunion. Don’t miss out; 2031 will be here sooner than we expect!
