ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - It’s almost that time of the year! National Night Out, held every year on the first Tuesday in August is a community-building campaign designed to bring law enforcement and neighbors together to promote safety and unity.

National Night Out has been a tradition in Elk Grove for years and encourages residents to foster a relationship between themselves and public safety officials while raising awareness for crime and drug prevention. 

This family-friendly event will give the community an opportunity to demonstrate their solidarity and support for public safety officials while also serving as a message to criminals that the neighborhoods are engaged and working together to keep the streets safe.

National Night Out offers an array of activities and amenities for the whole family. It is a night filled with free food, DJ and contests, water slides and even a jump house. There is also the opportunity to take part in raffles and win great prizes. 

This year, National Night Out will be hosted at the Calvary Christian Center South located at 9499 E. Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove. This event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday Aug. 4.
