ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - In recognition of the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, the City of Elk Grove celebrated the work of Visions in Motion, a local nonprofit that partners with city departments to promote inclusion while serving the community.

Visions in Motion works alongside the Elk Grove Police Department and Elk Grove Animal Services, providing participants with opportunities to develop job skills, build confidence and connect with others through meaningful community service.

The organization is also a partner of FlyFit, an Elk Grove Police Department program that brings officers together with individuals of different abilities to foster understanding, build relationships and strengthen community connections. Throughout the year, Visions in Motion also supports police personnel through holiday gatherings and other acts of appreciation.

At Elk Grove Animal Services, participants have contributed nearly 400 volunteer hours so far this year, assisting with daily shelter operations. Their work includes washing dishes, doing laundry, organizing donations and completing other behind-the-scenes tasks that help keep the shelter running smoothly.

City officials said the organization’s ongoing commitment has benefited shelter staff, the animals in their care and the broader Elk Grove community.
