ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - As Elk Grove’s newest shopping center begins to take shape, its first restaurant tenants are already opening their doors to the public, marking the start of the retail destination’s dining experience.

Other businesses that have recently opened at the center include Chick-fil-A, SchoolsFirst Credit Union and Mendocino Farms, which also celebrated its grand opening June 22. Future tenants include Shake Shack, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble (opening in the fall) and Philz Coffee. Philz Coffee is scheduled to open July 8.

The Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting, officially welcoming the Yard House restaurant to the local business community.

The location is Yard House’s fourth in the Sacramento region, joining restaurants in Downtown Sacramento, Roseville and Folsom. The restaurant offers more than 90 draft beers alongside American-style entrees and appetizers featuring globally inspired flavors. Guests can also enjoy happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays, with a late-night happy hour beginning at 10 p.m. Sundays until closing.

General Manager Matt Russell explained to the Elk Grove Citizen that Elk Grove’s continued growth and its “up-and-coming DNA” made the city an ideal location for the restaurant’s newest expansion.

“There’s a lot of opportunity,” Russell said. “It’s just so beautiful; there’s so much to do here.”

Whether longtime fans of the chain or first-time visitors, Russell said guests can expect “a great vibe, classic rock and a bunch of amazing offerings when it comes to food choices.”

The restaurant is also debuting a new beer garden concept for the chain. The outdoor space features synthetic turf, picnic-style seating and a full outdoor bar, serving as the pilot design for future Yard House locations.

“Just the outdoor seating is something new for our concept that we’re excited about and we’re going to see a lot more openings with the same layout,” Russell added.

Yard House is open daily for lunch, dinner and late-night dining from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and Sunday, and until 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The restaurant also offers online ordering, curbside pickup and delivery for guests seeking takeout. More information is available at yardhouse.com/locations/ca/elk-grove/elk-grove/8398.
