ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - As the nation marks its 250th anniversary this year, the Fourth of July weekend is expected to bring an all-American celebration to the city of Elk Grove.
Here are the events and festivities lined up in the community.
A long-held tradition of running, walking and giving back is returning this year, set from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4. The Run 4 Hunger 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Runs will take place at District56, 8230 Civic Center Drive.
All proceeds from the run go toward support of Elk Grove Food Bank Services to assist those facing food insecurity.

The city will host its 30th annual Salute to the Red, White and Blue event at Elk Grove Regional Park, 9950 Elk Grove Florin Road, later the same day from 5 to 10 p.m.
There will be live entertainment including music from party band Pop Fiction, vendors, food trucks and of course, a fireworks and drone show. Admission is free; however, there is a $15 fee for parking. SacRT will offer free shuttle service to the park beginning at 4:30 p.m.
