ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - SMUD and local elected officials unveiled an all-electric commercial kitchen at the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation (9040 High Tech Court) on June 16, made possible through SMUD’s Community Impact Plan’s Business District Electrification program.
The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation's all-electric kitchen upgrade replaced all gas appliances with advanced electric equipment, including an induction wok station with four woks, a griddle, two Combi ovens, a deep fryer and a stock pot station.

The all-electric kitchen supports Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation’s community events, including cooking classes and energy workshops, helping residents learn about sustainable, efficient cooking methods. The all-electric kitchen expands access to healthy, efficient cooking and will reduce indoor air pollution associated with gas appliances.
This initiative will also lower long-term operating and maintenance costs for the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation’s facilities, demonstrating SMUD’s commitment to making tangible investments in the community that provide long-term benefits and savings.
