ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The City's Recycling & Waste team is expanding its hands-on outreach program to help more multi-family communities make recycling and organics sorting easier than ever.
Recently, staff visited Vintage Creek Apartments to connect with its residents.
Team members answered questions about recycling and waste disposal, provided helpful resources including waste sorting fridge magnets, kitchen organics pails, multi-family totes, coloring books, Special Waste Collection Center information and even handed out sweet treats like popsicles and ice cream. Residents who couldn’t attend still received a recycling and waste “care package” delivered to their door.
By meeting residents where they live and providing practical tools and education, the city is cutting down on the confusion about recycling and organics programs and making waste sorting simpler for everyone.
