ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Do you use Elk Grove’s trail network? If so, you’ll want to read this.

Weekday trail maintenance is under way at various locations throughout the city through June 12. This work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and includes repairs, crack sealing and seal coating to improve long-term trail conditions.

During work hours, affected trail sections will be temporarily closed to public access and will reopen in sections as each phase of work is completed. Overnight closures will be required during the seal coat phase from June 9 to 12.

Trails impacted include Elk Grove Creek East Side Trail from Laguna Boulevard to East Stockton Boulevard and Emerald Vista Drive; Elk Grove Creek West Side Trail from Laguna Boulevard to Oneto Park; Coop Trail, starting at the intersection of Franklin High Road and Coop Road to Gilliam Drive; and Machado Ranch Trail at the intersection of Franklin High Road and Machado Ranch Drive to Prada Court.

We appreciate your patience as these improvements are completed and hope you will enjoy the benefits of a smoother trail surface at the conclusion of this work. Until then, residents should plan ahead and use alternate routes when these closures are in place.
