Art Center to Feature Works by Kim Brownell, Andrea Morris

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will present two featured artist collections in May with Kim Brownell and Andrea Morris. The exhibitions open with a First Saturday Public Reception from 4 to 7 p.m. May 2.

“This May we are excited to share two featured artist collections at the center. Kim Brownell presents ‘Shaping Fiber into Art,’ a collection of wall-hanging textiles that highlight weaving, pattern combinations and decorative designs in fabric,” said Elk Grove Fine Arts Center Marketing Director Heath Buckmaster.

“Andrea Morris presents ‘The Attic of Man’s Heart,’ a collection of oil paintings that express daily experiences, small moments and the beauty that surrounds us.”



An 18-by-24 oil on canvas art piece titled “Hypnotic Curiosity” is by artist Andrea Morris.  


The center reminds readers that the 5th Annual Elk Grove Festival of the Arts is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Old Town Plaza (9615 Railroad St.). The event is presented by the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center and sponsored by the City of Elk Grove, the Arts and Creative Economy Commission, and Motif Green. Established as a nonprofit arts organization on November 29, 2007, the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is a place for local artists to share their work and for the community to experience the visual arts through classes and special events. The center presents monthly fine art exhibitions, regional art competitions, a gift shop featuring functional art and jewelry, First Saturday public art receptions, adult workshops in a variety of art mediums, and the annual Elk Grove Festival of the Arts. The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is located at 9020 Elk Grove Boulevard Suite 101.
