Art Center to Host 5th Annual Festival of the Arts

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center is set to present its fifth annual Elk Grove Festival of the Arts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Old Town Plaza (9615 Railroad St.).

The free, public event will feature a full day of live music, art demonstrations and more than 30 local artisan vendors offering handmade works including crafts, pottery, paintings and drawings.

Live performances will begin with Be Here Now at 10 a.m., followed by the New Jazz Quintet at 12:15 p.m., Sax Quartet at 1:30 p.m. and the Military Jazz Quintet at 3:20 p.m.

“We are thrilled to present the 5th Annual Festival of the Arts on the final Saturday in April. This popular event brings together visual and performing artists from across our region, and allows them to showcase their fine artwork, musical talents and artistic products to the community,” Elk Grove Fine Arts Center Marketing Director and board member Heath Buckmaster said in a news release.

“Returning this year, we have a full day of musical acts on the stage plus art demonstrations by the Laguna Creek High School including pottery and a working blacksmith,” he added.

The vendor lineup includes Nannosecond Productions, Vic Bicomong, The Ascension, Reyes Paintings, Glenda Burns, Erin Martinelli, Cynthia Minoli, Krystal Lyn Creations, Angie Talbert, Mind Candy Mysteries, Optimystical Art, Just Beautiful Woodworks, Shmak Creations, Robert Hobkirk, She Sews He Saws, Art by Celeste, Jill Miller, Matt Zidar, Entwined Mind Designs, Locke Art Studio, Cowgirl Dita Pottery, Beautifully Bound Permanent Jewelry, Number 5 Studio, Resin Serenity, Village Stage Productions, Adriana Maria Designs, Artful Inky, Jodi Reagan Designs, Cadence Creations, Athena Crawford, Gloria Espejo, Brenda Dominguez and Musical Mayhem Productions.

In addition to art and entertainment, attendees can take part in hands-on activities for youth hosted by Elk Grove Space4Art and Pinot’s Palette, as well as enjoy a variety of food and beverage options.

“Young people will enjoy art projects created by Elk Grove Space4Art and Pinot’s Palette, and all guests will appreciate a selection of food and beverage options as they explore over 30 vendor booths. We look forward to seeing everyone at the festival,” Buckmaster said.

The festival is sponsored by the City of Elk Grove and its Arts and Creative Economy Commission, with additional support from The Red Door Antiques Vintage and More, Motif Green and ARDENTforlife Magazine.

Established in 2007, the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center serves as a hub for local artists and offers the community access to visual arts through exhibitions, classes and special events. The center hosts monthly art shows, regional competitions, workshops and First Saturday public receptions, along with its annual festival.
