ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - This fun afternoon from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3 combines philanthropy with live performances, offering local youth the chance to start their musical journey.

Empowering Young Musicians

The heart of the event is the Instrument Giveaway. Throughout the day, children from the community are invited to browse a selection of donated instruments (including guitars, basses, keyboards and drums) and take one home to begin their musical education.

“We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the power of making music,” said the School of Rock Elk Grove team. “Rock It Forward is about removing barriers and fueling the passion of aspiring rockers in our community.”

Event Highlights

Beyond the giveaway, the day features a full lineup of entertainment and local flavor. Food trucks at the event will feature local favorites that will serve up a variety of delicious eats for families to enjoy. A live performance will be given by the house band, the premier student audition group that will be shredding on stage, showcasing the results of hard work and professional coaching.

Attendees will also be welcome to watch the Summer Season 28 Reveal Show, which is the grand finale that features the School of Rock staff band. The school’s expert instructors will take the stage for a live performance to officially announce the highly anticipated show themes for the upcoming Summer Season 28.

The event will take place at School of Rock Elk Grove, 9045 Elk Grove Blvd., and is free for the public to attend; instruments will be available while supplies last.

School of Rock Elk Grove is a performance-based music school providing students of all ages an exciting and engaging learning environment. Students learn their instrument, drawing from all styles of rock and roll, pop, funk, soul, r&b and more, by being part of a band and performing live rock shows. They start as young as 4 years old and up. They also offer Summer Camps that absolutely ROCK, providing a weeklong rock camp and performance you won't ever forget.
