WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – The Athletics officially opened their 2026 home season at Sutter Health Park Friday, April 3 against the Houston Astros. A sold-out crowd of 12,410 were present for the game, the largest crowd to date at the A’s West Sacramento venue, according to a CBS news article.
The A’s defeated the Astros 11-4. On April 4, the Astros came back with a 11-0 win over the Athletics. In the Sunday game, Sacramento fans were pleased with a 12-10 win over the Astros, concluding the opening weekend.
The Athletics are set to play 81 “home” games during the 2026 season, with 75 games to be played at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, and six games to be played at Las Vegas Ballpark, where the team will officially move in 2028.
