Albiani Boys, Toby Johnson Girls Bring Home Championship Titles

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The seventh-grade boys basketball team from Katherine L. Albiani Middle School and the seventh-grade girls basketball team from Toby Johnson Middle School captured titles at the Elk Grove Unified School District Middle School Champions Game on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Katherine L. Albiani’s championship boys’ team included Zander Behmer, Jacob Chau, Isa Chaudhry, Ronen Clayton, Connor Coughran, Elijah Gaadi, Ryan Hamman, Samuel Le, Major MacPhail, Angelo Motley, Mason Nguyen, Joaquin Pons, Jacobo Ramirez, Austin Rutty and Kristopher Tongco. The team was led by head coach Scott Behmer and assistant coach Ismail Chaudhry.

Toby Johnson’s seventh grade girls’ basketball championship team included Jasmine Aldueza, Zoey Baclig, Aliyah Escobar, Sarai Gray, Raya Kouassi, Laila Lam, Harlem Pettaway, Carter Peoples, Gurleen Randhawa and Jacey Yamzon.

Congratulations to both teams on securing the 2025-2026 district championship titles!
