ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The arrival of cherry blossom season in Japan each spring marks a time of renewal and reflection, encouraging people to pause and appreciate life. In recognition of the tradition, The Creative Space will host its second annual Cherry Blossom Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at Old Town Plaza.

The Creative Space, a Sacramento-based organization, focuses on uplifting local small businesses by hosting pop-up shops, private events and creative classes. Throughout the year, the group also organizes craft markets that often highlight the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community.

More than 50 local businesses will host vendor booths at the second annual Cherry Blossom Festival on March 21 at Old Town Plaza, 9615 Railroad St., where attendees can browse artisan products.

The festival will feature a variety of live entertainment, including taiko drumming, a form of traditional Japanese music. A DJ and additional musical and performance acts are also scheduled, including a demonstration of Aikido martial arts by Aikido Yoshinkan Sacramento. More than 50 local businesses, including artisans and food trucks, are expected to host vendor booths where attendees can browse products and buy food.

The free community event is open to all ages and will feature a dedicated kids’ crafts area. Pets are also welcome. Old Town Plaza is located at 9615 Railroad St.
