ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Wilton Rancheria announced on Feb. 26 its endorsement of Doris Matsui for California’s 7th Congressional District Seat.

As the Capital Tribe, Wilton Rancheria works alongside leaders at every level of government to advance the well-being of Sacramento and the surrounding region. The Tribe values the wisdom and guidance of those who lead with vision, compassion and strength, qualities long revered in its cultural traditions.

“Congresswoman Matsui has consistently embodied our values, serving as a steady voice for Sacramento and all the communities that call this region home,” said Chairman Jesus Tarango. “She has been a champion not just for one neighborhood or constituency, but for everyone who shares this land, uplifting voices that have been historically overlooked and ensuring that progress reaches every corner of our region.”

Wilton Rancheria is Sacramento County’s only federally recognized tribe, with more than 1,000 citizens. The tribe has established itself as a leader in sustainable development, cultural preservation and community partnership. Wilton Rancheria proudly operates Sky River Casino, holds majority ownership of Sacramento Republic FC and continues expanding its influence in regional economic development.

The tribe is proud to stand with Doris Matsui and support her continued leadership on behalf of California’s 7th Congressional District.

Doris Matsui currently represents California’s 7th Congressional District, which, following Proposition 50, will see its boundaries shift, retaining areas such as downtown Sacramento, Elk Grove, Galt and Rancho Murieta, while adding parts of Lodi, El Dorado Hills and Placerville.
