ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Elk Grove Animal Services is expanding access to affordable pet care with the return of free dog spay and neuter appointments beginning January.
This special program is available for Elk Grove residents who are enrolled in qualifying assistance programs, including EBT/SNAP, EAPR (SMUD), or ESA (PG&E). For a limited time, eligible dog owners can schedule surgeries at no cost.
To participate, dogs must be 7 years old or younger and weigh between 5 and 110 pounds. Proof of residency and qualification in an eligible assistance program is required.
In addition to dog appointments, low-cost spay and neuter services for cats are available with additional discounts for residents over 65 or enrolled in qualifying support programs.
By making pet care more accessible, we’re helping animals stay healthy, reducing pet overpopulation, and supporting families across our community. Learn more and check eligibility details at elkgrove.gov/spayneuter.
