ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Demonstrating their continued commitment to strengthening the communities where electrical workers live and work, the National Electrical Contractors Association, Sacramento Chapter (NECA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 340 have jointly donated $15,000 to Elk Grove Food Bank Services, supporting critical food assistance programs for local families and individuals in need.
“We are incredibly grateful to NECA and IBEW Local 340 for their generous support and long-standing commitment to our community,” said Executive Director of Elk Grove Food Bank Services Marie Jachino. “This donation will help ensure that individuals, seniors, and families have access to nutritious food when they need it most. Partnerships like this allow us to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and care.”
The donation reflects the shared labor-management partnership between National Electrical Contractors Association and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working together to invest not only in the union electrical construction industry, but also in the wellbeing of the greater Sacramento and Elk Grove communities.
“Our members believe strongly in giving back to the communities that support us,” said Business Manager of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 340 Bob Ward. “This donation represents the heart of union values; solidarity, compassion and making sure working families have access to essential resources during challenging times.”
“NECA contractors and IBEW members have a long history of working together for the common good," said Fran McDermott, chief executive officer of the National Electrical Contractors Association’s Sacramento Chapter. “We’re proud to support Elk Grove Food Bank Services and the vital work they do every day to fight hunger and provide stability for our neighbors.”
City leaders also praised the contribution and the partnership behind it.
“This generous donation is a powerful example of how labor and management can come together to uplift our community,” said Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen. “Elk Grove Food Bank Services plays a crucial role in ensuring food security for our residents, and we are grateful to NECA and IBEW Local 340 for their leadership and commitment to caring for our city.”
Elk Grove Food Bank Services provides food assistance, advocacy and referral services to thousands of residents each year. The $15,000 donation adds to more than $25,000 the building trades have contributed to the food bank and will help expand access to nutritious food while supporting ongoing programs serving individuals, seniors and families throughout the Elk Grove area.
