ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Cosumnes CSD’s Adult League volleyball played three games Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Wackford Community Center. Unlike the other CSD sports, there is only one adult volleyball league, which is co-ed. And the league has five teams that play 6-on-6 on Thursday evenings.
The first games were played on Oct. 16 to start a seven- or eight-game season. There are three games each Thursday, and one team plays twice in each night.
A player makes a big block on a spike attempt.
After each team plays all of its games during the season, the top four teams will compete in their playoffs.
These playoffs are going to take place the week after Thanksgiving, Dec. 4. The two winners of each game are going to play each other in the championship.
Although the players are still looking to win each game, they make sure to have fun every time. Bringing a speaker to listen to music during a game can lighten the tension of competitiveness but raise the level of enjoyment.
Players also are able to name their own teams. The five teams currently playing are: Casual ts, Woo!, Bet we ball, Yay and How I Set Your Mother.
Teams have a chance to get creative and have a little fun, which builds a relationship throughout the entire team.
Team Celebrating a Point
It also provides a great opportunity to play recreational volleyball. Even though the games are during the week, they are played later in the evening.
This allows anyone who be busy during the day to still have an opportunity to play, no matter who they are playing with. It could be with friends, family or even co-workers.
Players build connections whether they are on the same team or not. Depending on how big the league is, each player is going to see one another every week.
