ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, the City of Elk Grove will unveil a new piece of commemorative artwork created in partnership with nationally renowned folk artist Eric Dowdle of Dowdle Studios at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at District56 (9701 Big Horn Blvd.)

The collaboration underscores the city’s commitment to expanding arts, culture and creative placemaking.

The new custom artwork has been transformed into a limited-edition 500-piece puzzle honoring Elk Grove’s vibrant community character. Availability of the puzzle comes just in time for the holiday season, offering residents and collectors a meaningful and memorable gift option.

Puzzles will be available for purchase for the first time at Monday’s event ($25 each). Pop up shops at the Old Town Elk Grove Street Faire (Nov.29) and the Illumination Holiday Festival (Dec. 6) will offer additional chances to purchase this unique local gift.

Dowdle is a celebrated artist whose storytelling style and community-focused pieces have earned awards and partnerships with global brands including Disney and Costco. Since launching his puzzle line in 1997, more than 10 million puzzles have been sold worldwide. His creative journey has been featured in multiple television series, including “Painting the Town with Eric Dowdle,” recently relaunched as “The Piece Maker” on Magnolia Network, Discovery+ and HBO Max.
