ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen invites the community to Cosumnes River College for a Thanksgiving drive-thru turkey giveaway at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.

This marks the second year Nguyen has hosted the event, which aims to support families by providing a turkey for the holiday season while also offering an opportunity to connect with community resources and receive updates from the district office.

The giveaway will be held in Parking Lot E next to the parking structure at 8401 Center Parkway. Residents are asked to enter from Calvine Road only.

Distribution will continue while supplies last and recipients must remain in their cars. Each family is limited to one turkey with no exceptions.

In addition to this giveaway, Nguyen also announced that in response to the ongoing federal government shutdown, she and her team are organizing drive-thru food distributions with free fresh produce as well as state resources from 9 a.m. every Tuesday in November at Asian Resources Inc., 6270 Elder Creek Road in Sacramento.

“We know these times can be challenging, and we want our community to know you are not alone,” Nguyen said in an email. “Together, we can make sure every family in our community has food on the table.”

Recipients are advised to enter through Elder Creek Road from Stockton Boulevard, stay in their vehicles and be aware that food will be distributed while supplies last.
