ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – The Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce announced it will have a food drive in response to the unexpected hardship that many Elk Grove families are facing due to the recent government shutdown and the suspension of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

The chamber will host, in partnership with Elk Grove Food Bank Services, an After-Hours Business Mixer and Food Drive will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 9888 Kent St.

The even is open is everyone and anyone; all are welcome to attend as well as donate anything they can.

Requested donation items include turkeys, canned goods, boxed sides, pasta, and other holiday essentials. Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase additional items for families in need.
