New Regional Veterans Memorial to Cap Annual Parade

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Cosumnes Community Services District, in collaboration with the Elk Grove American Legion Posts 55 and 233, invites residents to celebrate local veterans with the annual parade, ceremony and community picnic.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a ceremonial “Reading of the Names” honoring Elk Grove veterans, accompanied by the national anthem and an honor guard salute.

Following the ceremony, the annual Veterans Day Parade will start at 11:11 a.m. at the Cosumnes Community Services District Administration Building, 8820 Elk Grove Blvd., and travel to Elk Grove Regional Park, 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Road.
This year’s grand marshal is local veteran and Planning Commissioner Oscar O’Con, with Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen serving as the honorary marshal.
For the first time, the parade will conclude at the Elk Grove Regional Memorial inside the park.
The celebration will continue with a community picnic open to the public, featuring free hot dogs, sodas and chips donated by the local Rotary and Lions clubs.
