Voting Begins for Statewide Special Election

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Ballots for the Nov. 4, Statewide Special Election are hitting the mail stream and all currently registered voters in Sacramento County will begin receiving theirs as soon as today.

Keep an eye on your mailbox and be sure to review, complete and return your ballot early.

Beginning Oct. 6, voters may use any Ballot Drop Box throughout the County to return their ballot. The Voter Registration and Elections department has a drive-through Ballot Drop Box in the Election's Office parking lot at 7000 65th St., Sacramento. This Ballot Drop Box is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 8 p.m. on Election Night, Nov. 4.

Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early and should remember to sign their pink Vote by Mail envelope for their ballot to be counted. Information on the days and hours of operation for Ballot Drop Boxes or upcoming Vote Centers is available on the Voter Registration and Elections website at http://www.elections.saccounty.gov.

No postage is necessary for voters returning their ballots by U.S. Mail using the pink Vote by Mail envelope.

​Key election dates include Oct. 20, when voter registration for the Nov. 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election closes. Voter registration forms must be postmarked by this date or delivered to the Voter Registration and Elections Office at 7000 65th St., Suite A, Sacramento 95823 by 5 p.m. Online voter registration must be completed before midnight on this date at www.registertovote.ca.gov.

Oct. 21 is when Conditional Voter Registration (CVR) begins. On Oct. 25, the 11 Day Vote Centers open. The last day that a Vote by Mail (VBM) ballot can be mailed to you is Oct. 28. After this date, Vote by Mail ballots are only available at the Voter Registration and Elections Office or vote centers

All vote centers will be open throughout the county on Nov. 1. On Nov. 4 it will be Election Day.
