ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – The Elk Grove Historical Society will hold a memorial service for Cindy Mahon, a longtime member, volunteer, chairperson, board member and friend to many in the community.

Society webmaster Louis Silveira said Mahon’s sudden passing has deeply affected the group and those who worked alongside her.

“Our volunteers become like family, and Cindy has been an integral part of the society for many years,” Silveira said.

The service will be held at Herberger’s Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Grant Line Road. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
