‘Dancing the Globe’ Highlights Cultural Heritage

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Dancing the Globe event was held on Saturday, Sept. 13 as part of the monthlong festivities for Elk Grove’s Diversity Month 2025. This event featured more than a dozen cultural dance groups.
It also included a special presentation by Mayor Bobbie Allen-Singh to Troop 288 member Ismail Ahmed, chartered by the American Legion Post 233. Ahmed has been a dedicated volunteer for several years at the Multicultural Festival. He received his Eagle Scout award during the opening ceremony.
Performances began with the Florin High School Vietnamese Student Association, and subsequent performances followed including from Riar Academy of Performing Arts, Sacramento Turn Verein Alpentänzer Schuhplattler, Strauss Festival of Elk Grove, Victoria Mendoza Folklorico, Sinagtala Filipino Theatre & Performing Arts Association, Future Lao Generation, ScotDance Sacramento, Vahana & The Jewels of the North, and Fenix Drum and Dance Company.
