A report by the City of Rancho Cordova outlines the potential market feasibility, economic impact, community benefits and overall development proposal of a Major Arena Soccer League stadium. As part of the Economic Development Participation Agreement Terms (EDPA), seven projects composed the proposal.

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) league owners have voted unanimously to award two expansion teams to the Sacramento-Cordova region, adding both a men’s and a women’s team for MASL and MASLW, respectively.

The proposed Cordova Arena would expect to facilitate sports, concerts, and community events in Rancho Cordova, including hosting the new Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) teams, according to a press release from KozPure, a real estate developer involved with the project.

The seven projects include a 7,500-seat arena with integrated luxury seating; two or more full-service, four-star hotels with a minimum room count of 800; farm-to-fork dining and retail spaces; a cardroom; structured, transit-oriented parking; and a public plaza with other amenities, according to the city’s report. 

Expected to debut in Fall 2027 at the pending new Cordova Arena, select MASL games will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Golazo Network. The arena is part of a larger vision to create a vibrant destination that drives economic growth and brings people together through year-round entertainment.

The proposal includes specific commitments, according to the report, including a 35-year term of agreement, a cardroom tax and shared revenue proceeds with the master developer.

The most significant revenue source from the project is expected to be the Transient Occupancy Tax, estimated at $500,000 to $600,000 annually. Over a 12-year period, more than 35,000 jobs and roughly $4.5 billion will be generated in output from maintaining the arena, mixed-use, hospitality services and construction activities, according to the city’s report.
