ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Emerald Lakes Golf Course hosted a long drive contest and a closest to the pin contest on Friday, Sept. 12, sponsored by Wilson Sporting Goods.     

It was a way for Wilson to kick off the NFL season, as it was encouraging participants to come have a fun competition and to represent their favorite NFL team. Not only that, people were able to try Wilson’s latest golf equipment and to talk to Wilson Golf experts.

Golfers were able to try Wilson’s new golf clubs, a variety of drivers, woods, irons and wedges.    

“It’s a fun opportunity for people to come out, try new things and maybe go home with some new things as well,” said Louis Euer, territory manager for Wilson Sporting Goods.                        

The people competing in the long drive contest and the closest to the flag contest had the chance to win Wilson brand golf prizes. A raffle gave participants a chance to win something without needing to win the two challenges.

Each participant had five shots to see how far they could hit the long drive or how close they could get the ball to the pin. They were able to determine the distance with Trackman Range technology.

Emerald Lakes Golf Course received this new technology for the driving range earlier this year, allowing golfers to fully enhance their experience at Emerald Lakes. 

“Emerald Lakes has this very cool Trackman technology so we’re able to go on the range and track the longest drive and closest to the pin,” Euer stated.

The Trackman technology is a golf ball-tracking simulator where users can practice, play games and simulate courses to play. This technology also gives data and feedback to users so they know where they need the most work. Users can see the data of their shot, including total yards, ball speed, height and distance from the pin. It helps to give a better experience for the golfers when they go to the nine-hole Emerald Lakes, whether it be to play a round of golf or just to practice.    

The new Trackman not only brings a better experience, but it brings a completely new experience to Emerald Lakes.
