ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Rotary Club will host its annual fundraiser, the Beef & Reef Bash, from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at S.E.S. Portuguese Hall, 10428 E. Stockton Blvd.
The event will feature a savory dinner with tri-tip, pasta and an oyster and shrimp feed, with vegetarian options available upon request. A no-host bar, silent auction and live auction will also be part of the evening with prizes from Kings tickets to weekend wine getaways up for bargain.
By 6:30 p.m., long tables will begin to fill with Elk Grove’s very own People of Action. This event is an opportunity for the community to come together, share a meal and fuel the good work Rotary does all year long.
“Rotary is a global network of neighbors, leaders and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves,” said Elk Grove Rotary Club member Brittany Davis. “Its mission is rooted in fellowship, integrity, diversity, service and leadership.”
Proceeds from the event benefit local youth programs, community projects and international initiatives. Programs supported include the Third Grade Dictionary Project, which serves 13 Elk Grove schools and helps hundreds of local children from low-income families receive their own dictionaries.
Rotary also supports Project R.I.D.E, which provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with special needs, building confidence and joy in a way few programs can. It also supports Elk Grove HART, a nonprofit that assists unhoused neighbors, offering shelter and pathways toward stability.
International efforts supported by the fundraiser include providing safe, clean water to developing regions and assisting with disaster-relief missions that deliver supplies and hope when tragedy strikes.
“The Beef & Reef is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and every ticket sold, every auction item bid on and every oyster shucked directly impacts what we can give back,” said Davis. “The evening features tri-tip hot off the grill, a coast-fresh oyster and shrimp feed, hearty pasta dishes and a spirited live and silent auction, all with the heart and hometown spirit that Elk Grove is known for.”
Donations of auction items are welcome, and attendees can participate in both the silent and live auctions. Those who wish to further support the fundraiser can become sponsors, receiving event recognition, website listing and community outreach opportunities. Sponsorship levels range from Rock n’ Roll at $250 to Platinum Record at $2,000. More information is available at elkgroverotary.org/sitepage/beef-and-reef-sponsorship.
“As Rotarians, we believe that when Elk Grove shows up for Elk Grove, incredible things happen. This event is the heartbeat of our town, where generosity, fellowship and fun collide,” Davis said.
Individual tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at elkgroverotary.org or from any Rotarian.
