ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Fine Arts Center will present the annual art competition show “All Creatures Great and Small” from Oct 4 to Oct. 23, with a First Saturday Public Reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
The center will also show a featured collection of landscapes by artist Helen Plenert.
“Animals that fly, crawl, walk or swim are all around us, and our artists love to share their moments in nature every year in our fall art competition. This show is about capturing the essence of the animal in an expressive way and in all mediums. That means you’ll see sculptures, paintings, mixed-media and more in recognizable animal shapes,” said Elk Grove Fine Arts Center Marketing Director Heath Buckmaster.
“We’re also excited to bring a new collection of landscape paintings by Helen Plenert to our featured collection. Helen’s paintings include watercolors of Yosemite, Elk Grove agricultural lands and very recognizable Sierra mountainscapes.”
