SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - Where retro meets the road ahead. SMUD is bringing electric vehicle education and test drives to the OG Lowrider x Wired Down Sacramento Festival on Sept. 13.

This free car culture celebration will feature classic lowriders, live music and street vendors. With federal EV tax credits worth up to $7,500 expiring on Sept. 30, it's time to discover how electric power is transforming the past, present and future of transportation.

The EV Ride & Drive at OG Lowrider x Wired Down Festival will take place at the California Automobile Museum, located at 2200 Front St. in Sacramento.

SMUD, lowrider enthusiasts, EV-curious families and Charge Across Town experts will be available for tax credit questions. Festivalgoers can see the groundbreaking electric lowrider conversion, recently displayed at the Smithsonian. It was built by students from Sacramento Academic and Vocational Academy (SAVA) with SMUD support to showcase how classic car culture embraces clean energy.

Along with the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an EV, attendees can also receive a $10 voucher to use at any food vendor at the festival, experience the latest EV technology across multiple models and price points.

They can also discover EV benefits, such as virtually no maintenance, whisper-quiet operation and instant acceleration.

Explore home charging solutions, including SMUD's Charge@Home program offering rebates for EV charging equipment and installation or connect with EV owners to learn about cost savings and convenience.
