ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – Early Aug. 29, around 2:33 a.m., officers responded to Calvine Road between Bader Road and Bradshaw Road regarding a vehicle versus bicyclist collision.

A 39-year-old man from Sacramento was sitting on his bicycle in the road when he was hit by a White Toyota traveling eastbound on Calvine Road.

After the collision, the driver stopped at a nearby location and stayed on the scene.

Officers arrived and found the deceased bicyclist. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make identification of the deceased.

The driver remained at the scene after the collision and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver did not show any signs of impairment. Based on the investigation, traffic detectives do not believe speed was a factor.
