‘Up from Jackman’ Author Has Signing and Book Reading

Harold D. Baldwin signs copies of his book, “Up from Jackman.”

 ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Harold D. Baldwin, author of “Up from Jackman,” had a book reading and signing Saturday, Aug. 23 at A Seat at the Table Books in Elk Grove.   

At 11:30 a.m., Baldwin read to kids for an hour before talking to the adults about the life that led him to writing his book.

The book is an autobiographical piece that provides a valuable resource to students, parents and teachers. Baldwin shared that having faith, education and a strong spirit can help anyone rise above any challenge they face in their personal life.  

Baldwin spoke about giving thanks and praise to the people who had meant something to him when he was teaching at Jackman Middle School. He also said lessons that he had learned growing up, where he needed to overcome situations, helped him become the person he is today.

“We all have something, we all have intrinsic value,” Baldwin stated when speaking about what he learned from an early age.                

Baldwin said he will continue to do his part to have a positive impact on the community that he surrounds himself with to guide them to the path of success.
