ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Science Café hosts its monthly science-related conversations for adults and teens to create a community connection as well as enjoy complimentary treats. The theme for this month: volcanoes!

The upcoming conversation on Wednesday, July 2 is “Your Friendly Neighborhood Volcanoes,” featuring artist and scientist J Humphreys, Ph.D., who will be talking about a geologic history of California as told by volcanoes.

Members of the community can engage in this TED Talk-type of discussion and learn about how a tiny piece of volcanic debris can tell a continent-size story.

This Science Café discussion will be hosted by A Seat at the Table Community Initiative, located at 9257 Laguna Springs Drive, Suite #130.
