ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) – The Elk Grove Police Department posted a statement on social media June 23 regarding the fatal shooting that occurred earlier that morning, leaving two individuals dead at a residence on Triplefin Way, located south of Whitelock Parkway:

“We are investigating a shooting that took place around 5:40 a.m. this morning in a house in the 8200 block of Triplefin Way. Two people were found dead on scene. Circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time. It is still very early in the investigation, and as we learn more, we will share it as we are able to.”

The department posted updates throughout the day informing residents that, based on initial investigation, this was not a random act of violence but an isolated incident within the residence.

In another update, the Elk Grove Police Department shared that there were two other individuals, family members, who were present at the home during the incident. One of them left the scene before officers arrived but was then located by authorities. Investigators are interviewing both to further understand the circumstances of this shooting.
