ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Elk Grove was ranked as the fourth-best large city in California to live, according to a ranking released by Consumer Affairs last month.
Elk Grove, the second largest city in Sacramento County, is on the upper half of the top 10 mainly for low crime rates and its strong economy, as well as its list of amenities for families.
“As the second-largest city in the Sacramento region, Elk Grove offers an abundance of attractions, festivals and recreation without breaking the bank,” Consumer Affairs said. “From the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge to the Multicultural Festival every summer, there’s something for everyone.”
The website also noted Elk Grove’s “impressive” population growth as a testament to its attractiveness as a city, increasing about 133 percent between 2001 and 2023, from 76,000 people to 177,000.
