Fitness enthusiasts and local residents gathered in excitement as Club Studio hosted its grand opening party on Saturday, Feb. 22.

The event was a lively and raucous celebration, bringing together the community with a mix of fitness activities, local vendors and food. The event also featured giveaways, live music and booths offering raffles.

The grand opening, which was held a day after the facility held its ribbon cutting, featured a variety of interactive booths hosted by members of the gym for attendees to grab information from, and explore local offerings from Elk Grove businesses. Attendees also had the chance to sign up for exclusive membership deals, get their workouts in and get a sneak peek at some of the specialized workout classes offered at Club Studio.

Club Studio opened about a month ago at 7440 Elk Grove Blvd. in The Ridge retail center. It’s the second local site for Club Studio, with the first being in Citrus Heights. The 35,000-square-foot gym offers free weights, state-of-the-art equipment, spacious workout areas, group fitness classes and other amenities.

“Elk Grove is great; we just have the best community here,” said Kyra Beaman, membership manager for Club Studio. “It’s been nonstop since we opened our doors at 7 (a.m.). It’s been great.”

A standard membership is currently $149 a month; $189 for the upgraded membership, which provides 25 guest passes a year and priority booking; or $249 a month for access to all Club Studio locations.

Use of the recovery and cryotherapy equipment is an additional cost.

Victor Gutierrez, who was running the My CBD Sport booth, said he was a member of a previous gym for about 13 years but tried Club Studio on a trial basis before choosing to switch over.

“I just planned on using the weights only; I didn’t intend on doing any of their classes. I used to live at that other gym, so to speak,” Gutierrez said. “But after their seven days, we switched. I just sample took a class, a boxing class here; now I’m taking two a week, and the benefits of all that recovery stuff, it made what I thought was my perfect gym look not so great anymore.”

Club Studio is open Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As an added bonus, Club Studio is offering a free single-day access code for anyone who lives or works in Elk Grove and wants to experience the facility first-hand. The code allows the visitors to explore the gym, try out equipment and get a feel for the community before committing to a full membership.

Elk Grove resident Teressa Yung said she used the one-day code on Saturday and “thinks she is sold.”

“I wasn’t sure what to expect,” Yung said. “but after doing a workout here I think I'm sold. The staff is super friendly and the environment is very motivating.”

For those who missed the event, Club Studio is offering a special promotion for a limited time.

Posh Bagel Coming to Elk Grove
Posh Bagel, one of the Bay Area’s most popular bagel shops, is eying Elk Grove for one of its newest locations.

Opening dates have not been determined, but the plan is for the Elk Grove location to join five other storefronts that the operators plan to open in the Sacramento region this year, including locations in Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Granite Bay and two in El Dorado Hills.

Menus vary by location, but typically include a variety of hot and cold bagel sandwiches in addition to the traditional bagel with a variety of spreads. They also serve wraps, smoothies, coffee and bubble teas.

Posh Bagel opened its first location in 2002 in Folsom before spreading to Davis in 2006 and Roseville in 2017. There are currently around 14 of the stores around the Bay Area, and around 20 total.

Owner Jefferey Ottoveggio said he has plans to get to 100 stores.

ALLDATA Inks New Lease
Elk Grove-based technology company ALLDATA has announced a lease renewal between West Taron Holdings LLC and ALLDATA LLC, securing its company’s headquarters at 9650 W. Taron Drive.

The renewal ensures that ALLDATA’s employees will remain in the Elk Grove headquarters.

“Elk Grove offers an unparalleled quality of life,” Satwinder Mangat, president of ALLDATA, said in a news release. “The city’s strategic proximity to the Bay Area, combined with its proactive support, has been instrumental to our success, making it the ideal home for our headquarters.”

ALLDATA was founded in Sacramento in 1986 and relocated to Elk Grove in 2008. ALLDATA made a name for itself by consolidating auto repair resources into an accessible, searchable digital format, doing away with bulky paper auto repair manuals.

Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen said the businesses presence underscored the city’s commitment to providing a thriving economic environment.
