ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Monterey Trail Mustangs and Sheldon Huskies were named Co-Champs of the Delta League after both teams finished with an 11-1 record in league play. 

The Mustangs defeated the Franklin Wildcats at home on Friday, Feb. 14 to finish off their season on a high note and cement their share of the Delta League crown, while the Huskies capped off their season with a win against the Laguna Creek Cardinals on the road. 

Both teams qualified for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs, with the No. 7 Huskies taking on Weston Ranch High School in the first round on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Stockton. The Mustangs enter the playoffs as the No. 5 seed and will hit the court against Edison High School in Stockton the same day. 

The Franklin Wildcats finished at 8-4 for third place and will play Oak Ridge on Thursday, Feb. 20 as the No. 8 seed. 

A win sets a meeting against No. 1-seed Modesto Christian on Friday, Feb. 21.
