Suen to Chair Area Council of Governments

ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Elk Grove City Councilmember Darren Suen was elected Chair of the Sacramento Area Council of Governments Board of Directors on Dec. 19.
He will be sworn in during the board’s first meeting on Jan. 16.
The Sacramento Area Council of Governments Board of Directors is responsible for fostering collaboration and support between the 28 member cities and counties including forming strategic goals for equity, economy and the environment. It also serves as the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region and oversees the Sacramento region’s Regional Transportation Plan.
Suen was sworn into his third full-term as an Elk Grove City Councilor on Dec. 11 alongside Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and District 3 Councilor Kevin Spease.
Suen has previously served as chair of the council of government’s Transportation Authority and the Sacramento Public Library Authority.
Rocklin Mayor Jill Gayaldo was elected vice chair.
