ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Cosumnes Community Services District extends its heartfelt gratitude to outgoing board members Gil Albiani and Orlando Fuentes for their years of dedicated service and welcomes Rich Lozano and Daniella Zehnder to the Board of Directors.
Albiani has been a pillar of the Elk Grove community for decades, serving on the District Board since 2004. A veteran of the Army National Guard, a long-time resident of the Elk Grove area and a respected member of the local real estate community, Albiani brought leadership and commitment to every role he undertook. He has been deeply involved in local and regional initiatives while serving on various boards, including the Mercy Foundation, Sacramento Association of Realtors and the California Exposition & State Fair. His extensive contributions to youth development, healthcare and agriculture have left a lasting legacy in Elk Grove.
Fuentes, a longtime Laguna resident, joined the Cosumnes Community Services District Board in 2016 as an advocate for community wellness and inclusivity. His distinguished 26-year career in California state government focused on health and human services, and since retirement, he has dedicated his time to strengthening Elk Grove’s community spirit. His leadership in events like the Elk Grove Multicultural Festival underscores his passion for celebrating diversity and unity.
At the Board of Directors’ regular meeting on Dec. 4, district staff, city officials and community members expressed gratitude to Albiani and Fuentes for their unwavering service and commitment to the community.
On Dec. 4, new board members Rich Lozano and Daniella Zehnder were sworn into office, along with Jim Luttrell, who is beginning his third consecutive term on the Board. They join Directors Angela Spease and Peter Sakaris, who were elected in 2022.
Lozano brings decades of experience in public service, including prior terms on the District Board and as a Galt City councilmember. With a passion for safety and youth development, Lozano’s extensive background in law enforcement and community engagement positions him to make a meaningful impact.
Zehnder, a dedicated Elk Grove resident, offers a fresh perspective to the District Board. With leadership experience in financial institutions and a commitment to community development, Zehnder is poised to contribute significantly to the District’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Also at the Dec. 4 meeting, the Board of Directors appointed Angela Spease as its president for 2025.
Spease noted, “Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited about empowering our community with top-notch parks, recreation and fire protection services. Working closely with our dedicated team and community partners, we aim to enhance the safety and quality of life for residents, businesses, visitors and employees in the District.
