ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - The Elk Grove Gobble Wobble, organized by Chicks in Crisis, offers Elk Grove runners and walkers a chance to burn off a few extra calories before the big feast with a 5K Family Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28. The route starts and finishes from Longleaf Drive.

To accommodate the event, road closures and alternative routes will be set up between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Roadways will be reopened when runners clear the area. Holiday motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Street Closures for Thursday, Nov. 28:

Both directions of Longleaf Drive

Laguna Springs Drive in both directions between Laguna Boulevard and Elk Grove Boulevard

Eastbound Laguna Boulevard/Bond Road from Laguna Springs Drive to East Stockton Boulevard

Southbound Highway 99 Bond Road off-ramp (No eastbound traffic)

Northbound Highway 99 Bond Road off-ramp (Delays westbound. No eastbound traffic)

Both directions of East Stockton Boulevard between Bond Road and Emerald Vista Drive

More than 2,000 runners have participated in previous Thanksgiving Day run events in the city.
