ELK GROVE, CA (MPG) - Elk Grove City Manager Jason Behrmann announced that Jaqui Guzmán is the City of Elk Grove’s new assistant city manager.
“We are excited to welcome Jaqui to our organization,” Behrmann said on Oct. 9. “She brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and unique perspectives to the position and I am confident that with her help, we will continue to raise the bar in the delivery of exceptional services to the Elk Grove community.”
The selection of Guzmán concludes a national recruitment process. The city has operated without an assistant city manager since 2019, when the position was vacated by current City Manager Behrmann.
Guzmán has more than 17 years of public sector work experience, most recently as the city of Sunnyvale deputy city manager.
Prior to that, Guzmán held management and analyst positions with the cities of Cupertino and San Jose, and the State's Legislative Analyst Office.
“I’m honored to join Elk Grove, a city celebrated for its diversity and high quality of life. As I step into this role, I’m eager to work collaboratively with staff and residents to build on these strengths,” Guzmán said. “I’m excited to use my passion for fostering inclusive, community-driven solutions to contribute to Elk Grove’s continued growth and shared vision."
Guzmán holds a master’s degree in public policy from the UCLA School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and world affairs from Occidental College.
Guzmán will begin her new Elk Grove position in December.
