Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Vimal Mishra as its new Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Mishra replaces Dr. Miral Patel who vacated the position in March 2024 to pursue another role at Dignity Health.
With nearly 17 years of clinical and executive leadership experience, Dr. Mishra brings a wealth of expertise in internal medicine, clinical informatics, and healthcare innovation to this role. Most recently, Dr. Mishra served as Associate Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Digital Care at UC Davis Health, where he drove innovation in healthcare delivery and provided executive physician leadership.

In his role, Dr. Mishra will focus on elevating patient care, quality and safety, optimizing clinical operations, and pioneering innovative healthcare delivery models. His responsibilities will include overseeing the medical staff, fostering a collaborative culture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, promoting a shared commitment to excellence in patient care and spearheading strategic initiatives to enhance patient care.

Dr. Mishra holds a medical degree from B.J. Medical College, Pune, India, a business degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and he completed an internal medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University.
