ARC Football Drops NorCal Regional Title to San Mateo

San Mateo, CA. (MPG) - American River College was down 30-13 heading into the final quarter, scored twice but couldn't a third time and lost to College of San Mateo, 30-27, in the CCCAA's Northern California Regional football championship game.
Robert Freeman scored on a 20-yard pass from Kenneth Lueth with 8:34 remaining to bring the Beavers to within three points of San Mateo. Anthony Grigsby (Cosumnes Oaks H.S.) led San Mateo with 294 yards passing and three TD passes.
Freeman had eight receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Beavers who conclude the season with a 10-2 record.
San Mateo now moves on to the State championship game Dec. 9 against either Riverside City or Ventura.
