MCCLELLAN, CA (MPG) — Twin Rivers Unified School District is thrilled to announce Christine Flok, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator, as a finalist for the 2022 eSchool News K-12 Hero Awards. Flok was nominated for this award by EmpowerU because of her leadership and understanding of the critical need to support educator well-being as paramount to improving student engagement, motivation, and outcomes.
Nominations were judged by a panel of education experts, and finalists were selected for their commitment to education during and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, their creativity, and innovation in helping all students continue learning while ensuring students felt safe, empowered, and engaged.
“It’s no surprise Ms. Flok was named a finalist for this important award,” said EmpowerU co-founder and CEO, Katie Dorn. “She works collaboratively across departments to fully leverage the power and impact of the EmpowerU solution, understanding how each piece fits together to drive whole child success. She is a perfect example of a K-12 Hero.”
In the coming weeks, Ms. Flok and the other Hero Awards nominees and finalists will be highlighted on eSchoolNews.com and on the eSchool News podcast Innovations in Education. In addition, all program finalists’ names will be published in a custom K-12 Hero Awards ebook that will be available for download.
