SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The 51st Annual Optimist High School Baseball All Star games were held on June 12, 2022, at Army Depot Park Fields.
The North Small Schools Team was coached by Jeff Wise from Center High School and assisted by Dave Watson from Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, Matt Johanson, Tanner Wise and Mike Manrique from Center High School. The South Small Schools Team wass coached by Jason Adversalo from Liberty Ranch High School and assisted by Dean Kunze from Liberty Ranch High School.
The North Team won 13-2. The Outstanding Player of the North Team was Darren Johanson from Center High School. The Outstanding Player of the South Team was Christopher Pamploma from Galt High School.
The North Large Schools Team was coached Pat Esposito from Granite Bay High School and assisted by Jim Barr, Joe Swope, Tom Gallagher, Doug Herrenschmidt, Mike Musolino and Brian Boyan from Granite Bay High School. The South Large Schools Team was coached by Michael DeNecochea from CK McClatchy High School and assisted by Briant Flint, Randy Davis and Bob Crowl from CK McClatchy High School.
The South Team won 15–12. The Outstanding Player from the North Team was Zack Malone from Woodcreek High School. The Outstanding Player from the South Team was Tyler James from Vanden High School.
